Adelaide just got a whole lot more exciting thanks to Sushi Planet, a brand new Japanese restaurant that has just opened up on the western side of the CBD. Last night I Say, You Say was fortunate enough to attend the grand opening of the restaurant, along with a number of other lucky guests.
We were treated to a delightful sample of some of the freshest and best tasting sushi, with a fine selection of sushi rolls, nigiri and aburi nigiri. The food was an extreme hit, as indicated by the abundance of empty platters throughout the venue, and the range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options made it possible for everyone to enjoy. The delicious cocktails topped it all of, and the mini desserts were the perfect end to a fantastic evening.
Situated on the corner of West Terrace and Waymouth Street, this is the ideal location just on the outskirts of the CBD, creating the perfect atmosphere without the busyness of the city rush. The interior is divine, simple yet chic, with stone tables and red chairs creating a real authentic atmosphere, and the outdoor seating is perfect for those warmer nights.
Sushi Planet is a venue for all occasions, whether it's to indulge in some fine-tasting sushi, or to have a few post-work drinks. Their selection of cocktails is nothing short of amazing, as we found out last night, and like me, I'm sure you'll find yourself wanting to try them all. If you're in the mood for something simple, a great selection of beers, wines, and liquors are also available, along with a range of teas, coffees and soft drinks. They really do have it all!
I can already tell that we are going to become Sushi Planet regulars, and to all of you foodies out there, it is definitely worth checking out. I'll even let you in on a little secret, the Aburi Salmon is a must-have!
